CHARLTON E. LUI
President, CEO

Charlton Lui has built his career in business from a series of successes, creating and growing companies from the ground up while working with some of the most influential names in the technology and software industry. In his role as President and CEO, Charlton oversees the day-to-day administration and applies his management skills and technological expertise to ensure that Primo Hospitality Group restaurants are at the top of their field. His path in the startup world has resulted in acquisitions by major Fortune 100 companies such as Microsoft and IBM. His financial engineering know-how has paved a business growth path for the Primo Hospitality Group, Inc. second too none.

Owner of more than 40 patents, Lui has developed unsurpassed technology systems for Primo Hospitality Group. The technology allows all store locations to be remotely supervised and operated from anywhere in the world.  Along with visually monitoring each store, the technology also manages store operations, cash control, sales, labor management, and performs detailed business analyses.

Prior to his work with Primo Hospitality Group, Lui was co-founder of the Canadian Baseball League, the first and only professional baseball league in the country. Lui helped nurture the company’s growth from its humble beginnings as a small business to a robust organization boasting more than 500 employees. Throughout his career Lui has built a strong leadership foundation with companies including Stanford Research Institute International, Apple Computer, IBM/Metaphor and Microsoft, where he spearheaded product development behind the Tablet PC, one of Microsoft’s top initiatives working closely with Bill Gates.

Lui’s technological successes have landed him on the cover of Financial Times and in both Time and USA Today.  He has also appeared in the Chicago Tribune, alongside Microsoft power players Bill Gates and Jeff Rakes.

Explaining why he and Riviera are such a dynamic business team, Lui says, “Tony is an incredibly passionate visionary and a great restaurateur. My role is taking ideas and putting them into fruition through the business process. Together we form a synergistic relationship that complements each of our individual talents, providing the necessary elements to make Primo Hospitality Group restaurants a huge success.”
